What stops you from living full out, dropping self-interest, instead living your purpose and bringing your gifts into the world?
You (well, not you of course, but perhaps someone you know) have many reasons and choices for not being all you can be, including the following: Fear of being noticed Fear of failure Fear of success (yes that too!) Comparison with others (particularly parents and role models) Lack of will-power and desire. Not feeling worthy of it. Distraction, unfocused Looking to other sources for fulfillment Not knowing what to do or how to do Not having a powerful WHY about it Wanting to remain comfortable Believing playing small feels safer Don’t want to rock the boat. Hiding is better than being exposed. It’s too much work. And on, and on.
From my perspective, and in simple terms: it sucks! yes, it sucks to not live full out and be expressing my purpose! I hid it for way too long, and I could have spent my whole life that way, unaware I was living my life with my engine barely on idle. Some occasional excitement or fun that would spike the throttle for a moment, then back to a lazy idle once again. Can you relate?
I did the usual things to stuff it down, leaning on more than a few of the choices listed above. I suppose I could have taken to drugs and alcohol and other human level distractions. Not that I didn’t have some immersion in these choices, but it was clear it wasn’t my personal avenue of suppression or escape. Yes, I could have lived that way if it wasn’t for the small voice inside that kept whispering between/beneath/around the noise there was something more to life, something I wasn’t yet doing, having, or being, that I knew was out there somewhere (or more accurately, in me somewhere). Something that was more important and valuable than what I had been doing.
Of course, you don’t have that experience ever, do you? Frankly, I wished I had discovered and acted on this inner calling a long time ago, yet looking back now, I can see my own journey was as it was meant to be to get me here (there’s a tip there for you!). So how about you? Are you living your purpose fully in the world right now and enjoying the fulfillment and satisfaction of sharing your gift? What does your purpose look like?
There are several billion people on this planet currently, and perhaps some small percentage of you are reading this blog post even now. Similarly there are several billion purposes and gifts too. There are some broad categories which are clear. Your purpose may be directed to one person or small group (your lover, parent, child, family), or it may be a calling to make a powerful statement and impact on the planet. Your purpose may be to change a condition that impacts many people. It may be to create something new and unique. It may be a new word in the lexicon. It may be a new way of teaching that fully supports the children. It may be a new way of powering our world that is free, abundant and easily used. It may be a non-profit organization to help less fortunate folks.
It may be what ever it needs to be. Your purpose, your gift is necessary to the tapestry that is our human race. Never believe that your life has no meaning, it is simply not true.
You are important, you are necessary, you are a vital contributor in the cohesive gathering of humanity that we inhabit. All of us are here for a purpose, for a reason, and intentionally so. Thus, we all have a gift – that is why we are here. Share this gift and contribute to the whole of society.
If you choose to leave this planet without expressing your gift and purpose, we will miss it. We will be lessened by it’s (and your) absence. So get clear, get busy and get purposeful in your living, we are all waiting for you. Yes, I am passionate about this. I feel more aligned, more alive, and more consistently connected while I am present to and growing my own purpose work. I believe it is in your best interest and fulfillment too.

I had a deep realization over the recent Thanksgiving holiday. In four different conversations that were one single continuous one for me. I have been formally coaching individuals about relationship this year, and a realization hit me from these conversations. The realization is that my coaching, speaking, guiding and instigating goes beyond relationship coaching and counseling. The one core value that seems to be my primary work, both to express and to live more each day myself is Authenticity.
I know it to be so as I am triggered by those who don’t embody it. And of course, I am triggered by that same misfire in my own life when it happens too. So the week of Thanksgiving, after meditation one morning I downloaded (or perhaps simply realized what was already there) three delineated aspects that I am meant to teach and lead on. One (The Flame) of the three is centered on romantic relationship being authentic which is transformational to many relationship, on so many levels. Another aspect of my work is around authentic communication (The Word), which applies to how we speak to others, how we think about others, how we speak to ourselves, and more and more. What I have learned and am learning is life changing. We are powerful creators and our words create our reality, so knowing what we are saying and consciously choosing what we say so we have what we want is so obvious, yet not easily done. The final aspect of this trio of programs is about our purpose and calling to be shared in the world (The Gift).
You’ve seen some of my thoughts on this above. The first aspect is abundantly documented elsewhere on this site, and you can avail yourself of these tools and programs to support your authentic relationships. The other two aspects are under wraps for now, and will be revealed in due time! Stay tuned for sure.
Perhaps you don’t relate to this at all. Or do you? Do you have a gift buried deep inside that has been hidden from light of day for far too long? Has that still small voice has been whispering for a while now? Or perhaps your purpose is right under your skin ready to spring forth and you just need to yield a little and let it loose into the world. If the latter, then I ask you, I urge you, I implore you do whatever it takes to connect to and bring forth your gift, your calling and express it into the world. It has been waiting for you for a long, long time.
